1957 Cadillac Series 70 Brougham

Harley Earl, famed GM designer, was finally able to satisfy his professional goal of building the most elegant, sophisticated luxury car ever.  Influenced to offer such a vehicle from the enthusiastic public reception to the GM Motorama dream car, Mr. Earl set about building a limited amount of the most advanced cars ever built.  Very complex, and virtually hand-built, there were only 400 stainless steel-topped Broughams manufactured in 1957.  What did this no-option Cadillac include? Everything, and then some. In addition to the full power assist for steering, windows brakes, and door locks, and air conditioning, an Air Ride suspension and other technological advances or accessories were added that were unheard of during the time. The 4-doors are center opening to permit easy ingress-egress accommodation for back-seat passengers. This elegant boulevard cruiser has a powerful engine enhanced with dual four-barrel carburetors.

Everything about the design was exclusive to the Brougham. The mirror finished dark metallic blue exterior highlights the fenders and curves to set a graceful and tasteful tone, highlighted by the severe slash-styled tail fins, and styled bumpers embellished with large bullets. The front and rear fascia seem to roll under and fade away. This model also introduced the new four headlight design. The luxurious interior is fitted in a complimentary dark gray.  

More than 50 years later, this uniquely styled collector vehicle appears as breathtakingly elegant today as it was at introduction.
