Smooth cruising in this Little Deuce Coupe 5-window, chopped for just the right look and style. A Big Block Chevrolet is fueled by dual Quads, for that period correct topper, but gassing huge cubes.
The aforementioned deep black exterior finish, on the Gibbons body with 2 ½ chopped top, allows the grey and red pinstripe accents to stand out on the radiator shell, rear deck, and down the sides or the body. This full-fendered rod has louvers punched on the hood panels, top and sides. A great exterior lighting combination includes large diameter headlights up front, old skool original style cowl mounted lights, and classic rodding-style ’39 Ford teardrops in the rear.
The interior is an interesting blend of black seat, black door panels fitted with billet power window switches, a tilt steering column mounted via a drop fabricated from a billet connecting rod, with a Moon tachometer strapped on. The all black finish in and out makes the comfort of air conditioning a welcome creature feature if the weather gets too hot outside. Watching the road ahead through the shorter windshield across the 4-spoke Bell steering wheel, or glancing at the machined turned dash insert to the VDO gauges is easy in this comfortable ’32 “office”.
The engine is doing its job, putting the power through the floor-shifted TH Turbo 400 automatic, and back to 4-bar suspension mounted, finned alloy covered Ford 9 inch third member holding the 3.00 rear end gears. The IFS front end is built for comfort and better handling, using tubular A-arms and coilovers by Heidt’s Super Ride, steered by power rack and pinion. The tires spin along on polished Halibrand (14 X 7 front, 15 X 8 rear) wheels with three-bar spinner knock-off caps.
