Roman Red / Red Interior

Over 400 HP Rated Engine

There is just nothing quite like the C1 Solid Axle Corvettes from the late 50’s and early 60’s.  They are arguably the prettiest bodied Corvettes of all time and Red/Red on a ’62 has to be right up there as one of the best.

There were 14,531 Corvettes produced in 1962. This is a complete ground up restored car.  We have been all over this car from one end to the other and it is one of the nicest solid axle Corvettes we have ever seen.  Everything has either been replaced, rechromed, refinished or rebuilt.  Every nut, bolt, wire & fastener has been replaced.

The underside of the car is as nice as the top.  The frame was completely restored and appears to be never damaged or rusted.  Every mechanical component on this vehicle has been rebuilt or replaced.

This little red Corvette was built to run strong. While it still sports the original engine it is no longer a 327/250 HP. The engine runs flawlessly, and was rebuilt using forged pistons, hydraulic roller cams, balanced and blue-printed and mated with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor.  The vehicle has over 400 HP as it sits now with its original 327 matching number motor (104689 matches last six digits of the vin #, block #3782870).  The Alternator is 1102174 and original to the car. The Shielding is all on the car.

The Rear-end was rebuilt using .336 gearing with positive traction.

The car drives straight as an arrow on a near brand new set of radials. The entire front-end and steering mechanism was completely rebuilt, giving it almost a “power” steering feel to it.  When these cars are done right they are just marvelous to steer and drive.

The paint and body on this car is absolutely stunning.  We have had the car up on a rack and studied the frame and every body panel.   We cannot find any evidence of body repair to the original panels.  The bonding strips are in place and the car appears to have what we would describe as a “virgin” body.  The paint is deep and shiny and the chrome is all new.  All the rubber, window felt and trim pieces on the car were replaced as well as a gorgeous set of shiny wheel covers.

The Interior was completely restored using the highest quality Al Knoch Seats, Door Panels and Carpeting.  The Dash is nearly perfect as well as all the gauges, which appear to have been rebuilt with everything else on this car.

This car was built to NCRS standards and is as nice a ’62 Corvette as you are going to find.  Just the other day at Barrett Jackson we saw a similar ’61 sell for $91K and was not as nice a car as this ’62 example.

This car is ready for Show or Driving.  If you are in the Southern California area take the time to come and look at this car.  It has been completely inspected by our mechanics and is in perfect running order.  The car needs nothing.
