We are pleased to offer this 1954 Mercedes 220a Cabriolet. This beautifully restored Mercedes-Benz is a California black plate vehicle. Having spent most of its life here locally in Southern California. It was a regular competitor on the concours circuit after its full, total and complete restoration to exacting standards. The car comes out of a prestigous collection and has been maintained to a high standard. The car is finished in burgundy with tan hides and a tan top. Also equipped with factory original fitted luggage, an in-line 2.2l six cylinder motor, 4 speed on the column shifter, and its original build sheet in german of course. The SOHC six cylinder motor was a fast revving engine that coupled with the 4.44 rear end gears and 4 speed manual transmission delivered respectable performance from this 3175lb automobile. This car is one of only 1,278 produced over a 5 year period from 1951-1955. Not only does this car drive exactly as a Mercedes should the original clock keeps precise time as one would expect of a fine German engineered unit. Drive it comfortably and show it proudly. This 220a will make a fine addition to any collection.
