This is a 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe Woodie Wagon and a collector’s dream. Originally used as a South Carolina girl’s academy vehicle. The car was always stored throughout the winters. A center piece in recent years for a Virginia Classic Car museum. Only three owners before total restoration. perfect original ash wood stripped and refinished to show condition, no cracks or stains, with new mahogany panels. The super quiet in-line six was rebuilt and is very strong. The car has new brakes and hydraulics, new lucas wide white wall tires, totally fresh mechanicals. The car recently completed a 600 mile round trip journey up to Lake Arrowhead (6000 ft) in high gear and performed flawlessly. The car has new original style upholstery and maple interior door panels. Three original seats. Take the family out for a cruise. Original color maroon and factory wood grained grey dashboard. All chrome has been replated, stainless steel grille and mouldings with high luster metal polishing. all new NOS molded rubber floor mats and original Philco radio. Production data for Plymouth Woodies is unknown in 1948 but research shows only about 100 were made and very few still exist today. This is a great example that can be reliably driven anywhere. This car needs nothing.
